The sound of memory: the life and legacy of Rudolf Pekárek

  • Queensland Holocaust Museum 168 Charlotte Street Brisbane City, QLD, 4000 Australia (map)

Join us for a special piano and violin concert by Diana Jipa and Stefan Doniga honouring Holocaust survivor Rudolf (Rudi) Pekárek. Rudi and his wife Terry were deported to the Łódź ghetto in 1941 and later to Auschwitz. They rebuilt their life in Australia, with Rudi becoming resident conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 1954. Through music, we celebrate his resilience and honour the memory of those lost in the Shoah.
Ticket includes entry to the museum.
Proudly sponsored by the Romanian Association Doina Queensland and Suonavoce Australia.
