Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct

Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct

offers visitors the opportunity to explore the oldest surviving residence in the Glass House Mountains and discover the stories that shaped the region's pioneering history. Established in 1868, the property served as a Cobb & Co staging post on the Brisbane to Gympie route. Bankfoot House remained in the same family for 134 years across three generations, making this property a unique and authentic heritage experience.

The precinct features:

  • free guided tours of the State heritage-listed Bankfoot House

  • The Shed restoration project, showcasing the conservation of the site’s historic collection

  • interpretive displays and exhibitions in the Mary Grigor Centre

  • picturesque picnic areas within the historic grounds

Plus, discover a program of exhibitions, events and activities throughout the year that celebrate the rich cultural and social history of the Sunshine Coast.
