Bribie Island Seaside Museum

Matthew Flinders stepped ashore on Bribie Island in 1799 - the first steps for white settlement in Qld.

The SS Koopa(steamship) transported tourists from Brisbane to Redcliffe & Bribie from 1911 to 1952.

Massive oyster farming by the Campbells in Pumicestone Passage supplied shells for burning -producing lime for concrete in early Brisbane.

Ian Fairweather, acclaimed Australian expressionist painter lived and painted on Bribie Island for 21 years.
