HERITAGE TOURS 2013

Collections on campus - Saturday 13 April 2013

Explore culture, science and ancient worlds in the newly renovated campus museums at The University of Queensland. Tour includes admission and guided tours of the Antiquities, Anthropology and Physics Museums at the beautiful St Lucia Campus. With the option of a self-guided tour of the UQ Art Museum after the tour. Places limited.

Times: 10.00am to 12.00pm
Cost: $15 non-members/$13 BLHN members pp

Early cemeteries of Brisbane - Sunday 19 May 2013

You will be surprised by how much you can learn about a city by visiting its cemeteries. Join us on a special tour of Skew Street, Christ Church Community Precinct Milton and Toowong Cemetery to trace the history of early Brisbane. Friends of Toowong Cemetery will provide commentary and coach links will be provided. Tour will start and finish at Christ Church, Milton. Places limited.

St Helena Island river cruise and tour - TBC October 2013

Share the stories of Brisbane’s convict past, explore the historic ruins of Queensland's first prison on St Helena Island and enjoy a day on beautiful Moreton Bay. Tour includes guided commentary during the cruise, morning tea & barbeque lunch onboard the Lady Brisbane, and National Park entry & guided tour on St Helena Island by National Park Rangers.

Public art by twilight - TBC November 2013
