First burial was in 1868 of Susannah Weedon, matriarch of Tingalpa’s pioneering Weedon family from which Mrs. Roslyn Packer is descended. Other burials include Charles Coxen MP, a founder of the Queensland Museum; R. T. Jefferies, the Father of Music in Brisbane (Queensland Choir, Queensland Orchestra); Manly’s First Family - the Arnolds of Wyvernleigh; and the Hon William Duckett White MP of Lota House & Beaudesert.

First Wedding was in 1871 when Rachel Cairncross (1853 – 1931) married William Dalby (1850 – 1882)

The pioneers’ stories are etched on their tombstones, like the Daw grave, where the mother and father lie with nine of their ten children, who died as babies.

Each October a pioneer family is selected and honoured at the Pioneers’ Celebration Dinner in August (Sunday 30th this year) when descendants and others gather to get to know more about the pioneers, and each other, as they enjoy fine food, fun and fellowship.

This is the 142nd anniversary of the Pioneers' Cemetery, and the family of Alfred and Selina Robinson of Rose Hill Farm (now Robinson Park opposite Moreton bay College) will be featured. The Pioneers’ Memorial Service will be held at the cemetery on Saturday 30th October 2.00pm – 4.00pm. Relatives include Robinson, Jarvis, Williams, Mitchell, Crowther, Franklin, Voltz, and Thrutchley and family, friends and members of the public are welcome to attend.
